Greater Minds, Inc. was created by a retired classroom teacher and mother who wanted to further enrich the academic progress of students; teaching reading strategies and life-long learning to promote academic success.
Our goal is to prepare students for high school, college and beyond.
We provide a systematic, rigorous instruction with incremental assignments helping students to master new concepts.
Students are taught skills each day. Every child is expected to master each concept before learning a new skill. This method is successful and gives the child confidence to move forward with new skills.
Greater Minds Inc, goes far beyond tutoring.
This structured program imparts the critical thinking skills and mindset to learn new materials independently. It helps children develop a more positive attitude about learning.
Extra-Curricular Empower Hour: “Tools for Life, Leadership, Public Speaking, Financial Smarts, & Esteem Building GREAT Mentorship is designed to enhance the development of adolescents and provide a forum to expose them to the benefits of positive self-image, responsible conduct and respect for self and others. These skills will impact and empower young people all while providing a sense of excitement and empowerment.
* Self-esteem– Will help students recognize their inherent value and develop confidence in those abilities. It involves focusing on strengths, setting realistic goals and practicing self-compassion.
*Self-Advocacy– Students will understand the concept of self-advocacy and speak up for their needs, rights and beliefs. Practicing self-advocacy allows you to take control of your life and ensure your voice is heard in decisions that affect you.
*Conflict Resolution– Students will learn productive ways to handle conflict. Effective conflict resolution can increase people’s understanding of one another and increase both their self-awareness and empathy.
*Self-Respect/Care– Will learn ways to set healthy boundaries, build confidence and a healthier life. This session allows them to show respect for themselves and their peers.
*Social Media– Students will be able to make healthy media decisions using platforms that uplift and protect. They will be able to use social media with respectful content. Discuss and analyze pros and cons of specific social media formats.

Small Group Instruction…
Gives students confidence and a sense of personalized instruction. It also enable the teacher to observe students’ behavior and provide additional support while they practice reading/math strategies.
Regular conferences with staff also help gauge progress, goals, and motivation.
Our classroom tutorials, along with your child’s instructor and home support play an important role in ensuring students’ academic success..
