Alfredia D. Lee, “The Great Coach,” is an acclaimed author, counselor, lecturer, and public speaker, renowned for her passion in inspiring minds and elevating lives. With over 20 years of teaching experience in Houston and Fort Bend Independent School Districts, Alfredia has transformed countless lives through her dynamic and empowering approach to personal growth.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Texas Southern University, a Teacher’s Certification from the University of St. Thomas, and a Master’s in Counseling from Prairie View A&M University. A respected community leader and trendsetter, Alfredia inspires thousands as a contributor on KTSU 90.9 radio and captivates audiences across corporations, churches, schools, universities, and other organizations. Known for her ability to uplift mindsets, she leaves her audiences empowered to reach their highest potential.
Alfredia is the author of two motivational books, Be GREAT and UPGREAT Your Day!, which encourage readers to cultivate an extraordinary mindset. An active participant in the Congressional Black Caucus, she was honored as a featured author at the Congressional Annual Legislative Conference, alongside notable figures like Judge Greg Mathis, Congressman Jim Clyburn, and Iyanla Vanzant.
Through her mentorship program, Greater Diamonds, Alfredia uplifts young women by building character, self-esteem, and leadership skills. The program offers life-skills workshops, experiential learning activities, career exploration, group mentoring, and community service, proactively addressing challenges like peer pressure, academic struggles, and substance abuse.
Her dedication to service shines through in her organization of critical community relief efforts, including food, clothing, and financial support for families affected by Hurricane Harvey. She also established the “Pandemic Pantry,” a monthly food distribution in partnership with the Houston Food Bank, which serves over 1,000 families. Her annual Back-to-School Health Fair has become a crucial resource, offering backpacks, school supplies, health screenings, and haircuts to help students thrive academically.
As CEO of Greater Minds, Inc., Alfredia collaborates with Alief and Houston Independent School Districts to train staff and students, with a focus on avid reading, critical thinking, and self-confidence. Greater Minds provides a K-12 mentorship curriculum that empowers young people to become independent thinkers and well-rounded adults. Recently, Greater Minds, Inc. was honored by the MOTIF Awards Board of Trustees with the Nation’s highest accolade for child advocacy, recognizing its advanced educational initiatives and lasting impact on youth.
